Start by taking a moment to write down a list of industries that all of the people in your life work in.

Basta released this report in 2022 that explains how the top industries selected by first generation college students are the ones they come into contact with regularly, which tend to be in the healthcare, teaching, nonprofit, and government sectors. Although these are very important industries, they aren’t the only ones out there. Depending on what interests and motivates you, they may not be the best fit.
