How to stand out after a second round interview

After the second round interview, there are only a small number of candidates being considered for the job position. This is an opportunity for you to stand out. You could send a thoughtful follow up email to thank the interviewers and reiterate why you’re excited about the position. Another option is to send a one-page summary of some ideas you have for your first six months on the job based on what you’ve learned throughout the interview process so far. For example, if you were applying for an office manager position you might explain how you would lead initiatives such as selecting and implementing a new system for invoices or digitizing all previous client files. If you decide to send the one-pager, make sure to proofread for errors in spelling, grammar, and formatting. The content matters less than the fact that you’re putting in additional effort to stand out amongst other candidates.
